The Puritan Revolution Tell a Friend about this Course

On January 30, 1649, King Charles I of England was beheaded by a devout Christian group know as Puritans, who then established a Puritan Republic that lasted until 1660 when the monarchy was restored. Examine the nature of Puritanism and what led them to take revolutionary action against the king and why they failed to preserve the Commonwealth. Explore the impact that Puritanism had at the same time on the New England colonies. How has the Puritan legacy had an impact on both England and America?
