River Canoeing for Beginners Tell a Friend about this Course

Enjoy some easy paddles on the calm waters of the Schuylkill. Learn basic strokes, maneuvers, self and assisted rescue and safety techniques. Equipment included. This class may be physically demanding.

Notes:Students will need to bring lunch, a towel, change of clothes, snacks for energy and drinking water in a plastic bottle. Helpful items to bring are: a tie for glasses, sunblock, and brim hat. Wear a swimsuit or quick drying shorts and shirt (no cotton clothing), and water shoes or old sneakers for foot protection. You must be able to swim and be comfortable in water over your head. Lifejackets are provided and required to be worn throughout the class. PCC clubhouse driveway entrance is at the traffic light on Ridge Ave. by the SEPTA DEPOT/bus stop, just south of the Manayunk Main Street movie theater.
