A Day of Gardens- Mt Cuba and Winterthur Tell a Friend about this Course

Join us for a “Day of Gardens” in Delaware. Our first stop will be Mt. Cuba Center, founded by Mr. and Mrs. Lammot du Pont Copeland. Mrs. Copeland said, “I want this to be a place where people will learn to appreciate our native plants and to see how these plants can enrich their lives so that they, in turn, will become conservators of our natural habitats.” Mt. Cuba's sustainability mission will be explored in a 2-hour docent-led tour. Next we will take a short bus ride to Winterthur, Henry Francis Du Pont's home and garden, where we will have a guided house and gallery tour. Lunch is on your own. Following lunch we will have a guided tour of Winterthur's first garden exhibition, “Follies: Architectural Whimsy in the Garden!” The exhibition showcases whimsical and classic garden structures located throughout the Winterthur estate. The follies can be explored on foot or by tram.
