Main Line School Night programs are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, whose mission is to foster the excellence, diversity and vitality of the arts in Pennsylvania and to broaden the availability and appreciation of those arts throughout the state.

History into Art: Spanish Masterpieces Tell a Friend about this Course

Delve into the rich history and cross-cultural influences that inspired Spanish art from the cave paintings of Altamira and pre-Roman treasures to the avant-garde movements of the 20th century and beyond. Discuss Spain's many artistic movements and view them within a historical context. Reflect on the work of El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Dalí, Picasso, Miró and Gaudí, among others. Consider other artistic media, including music, dance, poetry and film.
