Religion and Politics: How They Influence Each Other and How They Co-Exist Tell a Friend about this Course

The relationship between politics and religion is as old as human history. In some societies, the two have melded together as a theocracy, in some societies religion has been publically banned or limited, and in others they have existed side by side, one not interfering in the freedom of the other. Students will look at the doctrines of the World Religions concerning political life and examine some of the ways in which religion and politics co-exist in the past and in the present.
