Hollywood and the Vietnam War Tell a Friend about this Course

The Vietnam War occupied the news, the daily life, and the worried brows of many Americans from the mid-1960s until American withdrawal in 1973. But the Vietnam War did not become part of the Hollywood imagination until well after the war had ended. As the years have passed, Hollywood movies such as The Green Berets, The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, Platoon, Good Morning Vietnam, Born on the 4th of July, and Heaven and Earth reveal the changing story Americans tell themselves about this divisive conflict.
