Impressionist Art in New Hope
The Pennsylvania Impressionists were a colony of landscape impressionist painters who resided and painted in the New Hope area and produced exceptionally beautiful, award winning paintings. We will explore this magical time beginning at the Michener Art Museum with a docent led tour. This will be followed by lunch at the Black Bass Hotel with its scenic view of the Delaware River. (Lunch is included.) From there we will go to the Storybook English Village built and crafted by Morgan Colt and the Phillips Mill Community Center where Impressionists were exhibited. The tour will conclude at Jim's of Lambertville, an art gallery devoted to Pennsylvania Impressionist paintings, where you will get a better idea of the current stature of these paintings in the art world.
