Writing for the Children's / YA Market Tell a Friend about this Course

Whether you’re just getting started or you’re an experienced writer who wants to expand into younger markets, this class provides the knowledge and tools you need. We’ll explore the formats, genres, and themes of books for infants through young adults, as well as the publishing landscape for children’s/YA writers. Exercises will help participants generate ideas geared towards young audiences, develop a young voice, and identify potential markets. Participants will work on creating either a picture book manuscript (fiction or nonfiction) or a children’s/YA short story.
