Earth Art & Architecture Tell a Friend about this Course

Every one of us comes from a place that was once inhabited by people who honored the earth as a source for sustenance and artistic inspiration. Explore the relationships people had with the land through the lens of ancient artists and builders who used what was around them to create beautiful and functional sites. Discuss the continuation of this phenomenon into the modern era with such developments as land art, outdoor sculpture parks and innovative architecture. Experience an aspect of earth art first hand by signing up for MLSN’s 6/16 visit to the Storm King Art Center in the Hudson River Valley, and experience a collection of modern, monumental art works exhibited to glorious advantage on 400 acres of fields and woodlands.
