Surrounded by the sea, Japan’s surface consists of marvelous mountains and many active and dormant volcanoes – a landscape which has shaped its history and culture. In a complicated relationship with modernity, intricate and ancient cultures intertwine yet the country has emerged as one of the world’s most technologically advanced societies. Take a digital journey through Japan, explore its natural beauty and “visit” ancient Buddhist temples and Shinto Shrines. Explore Tokyo, Kamakura, Mt. Fuji, Kyoto and Nara. Learn about food, customs and traditions from Tatiana who has traveled extensively throughout the country. Class is perfect for those who have visited or wish to visit Japan.
