Beyond Emily Dickinson: New England's Women Literary Pioneers Tell a Friend about this Course

Through short readings, explore how Emily Dickinson, Mary Oliver, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Edith Wharton, May Sarton and Annie Proulx among others, contributed to our understanding of socioeconomic and cultural issues through fiction, poetry, essays, diaries and other texts. Focus on past and present writers from New England and discuss how they approached American history, ethnicity, gender issues and religion.
